Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday met SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan to discuss the reappointment of 586 contractual teachers under ‘Sarv Siksha Abhiyan’. The mayor said that he had written a letter to the Union Education Minister requesting him to reappoint contractual teachers under ‘Sarv Siksha Abhiyan’ so students enrolled in SDMC schools could get a better education.
“The contracts of these teachers have been renewed under the ‘Sarv Siksha Abhiyan’ from October 18, 2021, to March 31, 2022. Appointment letters will be issued after the submission of relevant documents by the teachers,” SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan said.
He further said that the SDMC has been making all possible efforts to improve the level of education.
After the reopening of schools post-Covid-19 break, SDMC schools need 600 more teachers. SDMC has been providing education through online mode to nearly 3 lakh students enrolled in its schools.
