International Curriculum Will Be Teach In Delhi Government Schools: Arvind Kejriwal

According to the state government’s plan, the curriculum framework will be provided by IB while the Directorate of Education (DoE) will prepare the content as per the framework.

The Delhi Government on August 11 signed an agreement with the International Baccalaureate (IB) board. IB will be associated with the upcoming Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE), says Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

They will be starting this with 30 government schools, whose teachers will be first trained by the international experts and models of assessment of students will be developed. Under their proper guidance and assistance, the school will be inspected, verified, and certified to assess the shortcomings and how it can be improved. Slowly and gradually afterwards more schools will be added to the programme a too private schools can to get affiliated to DBSE.

Mr Sisodia, who is also Delhi’s Education Minister, tweeted. “IB Board shall be the knowledge partner of DBSE (Delhi School Edu. Board) to provide support in curriculum, assessment & teachers training. This is a big step to ensure world-class education for every child including the kids coming from the poorest families,”

Of the 20 SoSEs in the first phase, eight schools will specialise in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) 5 schools each will specialise in Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills, and two in Performing and Visual Arts.

In the first year, admissions to the specialised schools will be offered to Class 9 in Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, and High-end 21st Century Skills.

In the STEM schools, admissions will be offered to Class 9 and Class 11 students. An aptitude test will be held for admission to theSoSEs and the admission schedule will be announced later.

15000 students will be benefited from this process of collaborating with IB and there will be more than 400 teachers in Sarvodaya schools and 250 teachers in SoSeS will going to be part of this professional department
