Brother-sister duo aces CA Final, Nandini Agrawal achieves AIR 1 while Sachin finds spot in top 20

The ICAI has launched the results for the CA remaining and basics today.  Of the 83,606 candidates registered for Chartered Accountants final examination (new course), 19-year old Nandini Agrawal emerged as the topper with 614/800 marks. Her 21-year old brother, Sachin Agrawal has achieved all India rank (AIR) 18. 

They both are the students of Victor Convent School in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, Sachin and Nandini cleared class 12 in 2017. Nandini had skipped two classes early in childhood and hence, she has been in the same class as her elder brother since class.

She say’s “my brother and I have been studying together since school. We also prepared for IPCC and CA final together. Our strategy has been simple — we support each other but we critique even more. When we solve a question paper, he checks my answers and I check his. There have been moments when I was losing hope but my brother’s support got me on track,” says Nandini, who’s at the moment pursuing her articleship from PwC. She had additionally bought an AIR 31 within the IPCC examination.
While pandemic hampered the preparations of many of the aspirants, it truly labored within the favour of this brother-sister duo. It allowed them extra time to review and revise the subjects.

Their father, Naresh Chandra Gupta is a tax practitioner whereas their mom Dimple Gupta is a housewife. Nandini and Sachin each advise aspirants to observe the ICAI research materials for acing the examination as “it has worked really well for them”.
Nandini feels that almost all usually, mother and father don’t put sufficient religion in a girl-child in terms of aggressive exams, which is why lesser ladies go for and clear a few of the hardest exams.
“Girls often get fewer chances to prove themselves as compared to boys. If they cannot crack any competitive exam in one or two attempts, then they are asked to give it up, whereas the same does not apply to boys. I have been fortunate enough to have very supportive parents, but all parents should help their kids follow their dreams, be it a boy or a girl,” she says.
Nandini and Sachin each had opted for the CA new course as a result of in 2018, once they have been registering for IPCC, the outdated course was already out of the image. So, the brand new course was their default alternative.
